Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, incumbent Governor of Anambra State and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has been re-elected for a second term in office. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared him winner of the November 8, 2025 governorship election after he secured victory across all 21 local government areas of the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), as the winner of the 2025 Anambra State governorship election. Soludo, who is the incumbent governor, achieved a decisive victory by winning in all 21 local government areas (LGAs) of the state.

Announcing the results at INEC’s state headquarters in Awka, the Returning Officer, Professor Omoregie Edoba, Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, confirmed that Soludo met all constitutional requirements and was duly returned elected. According to the final tally, Soludo garnered 422,664 votes, significantly ahead of his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes. Other candidates trailed far behind, including Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) with 33,652 votes, George Moghalu of the Labour Party (LP) with 10,482 votes, John Chuma Nwosu of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) with 8,317 votes, and Jude Ezenwafor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 1,774 votes.

The election recorded a relatively low turnout, with approximately 576,000 voters participating out of 2.7 million registered voters. Despite this, Soludo’s sweeping victory across all LGAs underscores his strong political influence and the continued dominance of APGA in Anambra State politics.

With this re-election, Governor Soludo is set to serve a second term, extending his tenure until 2030.
