Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has confirmed that Pedri’s recovery from a recent hamstring injury sustained during El Clásico against Real Madrid is progressing steadily. Flick admitted that it remains uncertain whether the midfielder will be fit in time for the crucial UEFA Champions League clash against Chelsea next Tuesday. In the meantime, Barcelona will host Athletic Club at Camp Nou this Saturday in La Liga, where Flick will continue to monitor Pedri’s condition closely.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick provided an important update on the fitness of midfielder Pedri, who has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring rupture in the aftermath of the recent El Clásico defeat to Real Madrid. Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Flick explained:
“Pedri’s recovery process is evolving step by step. I don’t know yet if he will be available against Chelsea.”

The German coach emphasized that while Pedri’s rehabilitation is progressing well, the club’s medical staff are being cautious about rushing him back into action. The 22-year-old has responded positively to treatment, raising hopes that he could feature in Barcelona’s upcoming Champions League fixture against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on November 25.

Before that, Barcelona face a significant domestic test this weekend. The Catalan giants return to Camp Nou on Saturday, November 22, where they will take on Athletic Club in La Liga. With Barcelona currently sitting second in the table, Flick will be eager to secure three points to maintain pressure on league leaders.

Pedri’s absence has been felt deeply in recent weeks, as his creativity and control in midfield remain vital to Barcelona’s style of play. His potential return, alongside the reintegration of other recovering players such as Raphinha and Joan García, could provide a timely boost for Flick’s squad ahead of a demanding run of fixtures.
