Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Amorim revealed that Harry Maguire remains unavailable, stating that the defender is “not ready yet” following his recent setback. Maguire was forced off during United’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham before the international break and has not returned to full training.
On a more positive note, Amorim confirmed that Lisandro Martínez is close to making his comeback. The Argentine centre-back has endured a long spell on the sidelines due to an ACL injury but has now resumed full training and could be included in the squad soon.
United will, however, be without Benjamin Sesko, who is expected to miss several weeks with a knee injury sustained against Tottenham. The Slovenian striker’s absence is a blow, given his importance as one of the team’s few natural centre-forwards.
Despite these setbacks, Amorim expressed optimism about the squad’s resilience. United are currently seventh in the Premier League, unbeaten in their last five matches, and aiming to continue their upward momentum against Everton.
