The family of the late Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has reiterated its demand for a transparent and independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
In a statement signed by the family head, Omolayo Aloba, and Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, the family emphasized its commitment to pursuing justice. They announced the appointment of new legal counsel to oversee matters relating to the singer’s estate and the ongoing DNA case.

As part of the directives, the family instructed Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi Adebanjo, to cease using the Aloba surname until the conclusion of a court-ordered DNA test to confirm the paternity of her son, Liam. The family further clarified that while three administrators have been appointed to manage Mohbad’s assets, one position will be reserved for Wunmi if the DNA test confirms Liam as Mohbad’s biological child.

The statement read in part:   “The Aloba family remains resolute in its demand for a transparent, independent, and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. The family is committed to ensuring that justice is served.”

Legal representation has been streamlined, with Oladayo Ogungbe, Esq. appointed as the sole counsel for estate and DNA-related matters, while Dr. Wahab Shittu, SAN continues to represent the family before investigative authorities.
