The Super Eagles have officially announced their starting XI for the decisive 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff final against the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Head coach Eric Chelle has confirmed his selection for tonight’s high-stakes clash at the Prince Moulay Hassan Stadium in Rabat. Stanley Nwabali starts in goal after passing a late fitness test. The defence features Benjamin Fredrick at right-back, Zaidu Sanusi at left-back, with Semi Ajayi returning from suspension to partner Calvin Bassey.

In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, and Alex Iwobi provide a mix of defensive stability and creativity. Up front, Victor Osimhen leads the attack, supported by Ademola Lookman and Samuel Chukwueze on the flanks.

Semi Ajayi’s return strengthens the backline, while Onyeka replaces Adam Akor, who is benched despite scoring in the semifinal.

Nigeria booked their place in the final after a 4–1 victory over Gabon, while DR Congo stunned Cameroon to set up this decisive encounter.

The winner will advance to the inter-confederation playoffs next March, where nations from different regions will compete for two places at the 2026 World Cup.
