Hugo Ekitike scored a double, with goals in the 1st and 60th minutes, assisted by Joe Gomez and Mohamed Salah, respectively. Salah received a standing ovation when he came on as a substitute in the 26th minute following Joe Gomez's injury.
This victory moves Liverpool provisionally to sixth in the table with 26 points from 16 matches, seven points behind leaders Arsenal. Brighton, on the other hand, is now three points off Liverpool in ninth place.
