Liverpool have been hit with injuries so far this season and many pundits have predicted that the Reds Premier League title defense might be not be going according to plan as Jurgen Klopp back line are currently injured.

While Joe Gomez had also suffered an injury while representing England in the international break, the English defender has reportedly went under the knife for a successful surgery and he is expected to miss the rest of the season. 


The latest from the camp of Jurgen Klopp is that their talisman, Mohamed Salah has tested positive for coronavirus. 

It was reported that the Egyptian tested positive for the deadly disease while in camp of Egypt in the ongoing international break. 

According to Goal, the Liverpool star is suffering from "mild" Covid-19 symptoms. 

The Egypt's team doctor Mohamed Abou Elela has given update on the situation of the former Roma star. 

If you recall that Salah tested positive on Friday, which made him miss the Pharaoh's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Togo on Saturday. 

Egypt managed to win 1-0 without Salah who has been forced into self isolation. 

“He’s a mild case - he doesn’t have severe symptoms,” Abou Elela told the Associated Press. “He has to self-isolate in Egypt until his test returns negative and then, of course, he can travel back.

“The concerns from the Egyptian authorities are because Mo for Egypt is special. Everyone here wants to help and to do whatever the whole country can do."

If you recall that last month Sadio Mane tested postive for the coronavirus an he had to self isolate for 14 days. Although the Senegal international has recovered for the Reds. 

Mohamed Salah will be a big miss for Jurgen Klopp who will welcome Leicester City once the international break is over next weekend. 

Meanwhile, there are reports that Salah contacted the coronavirus while he attended his brother wedding during the week in Cairo, Egypt. 

Asked if Salah likely caught the virus while attending his brother's wedding in Cairo earlier that week, Abou Elela added: “I cannot deny. No one knows because unfortunately, we still don’t know everything about the virus. My answer is maybe yes, maybe no."
