Israel Adesanya challenge Conor McGregor's claim that he has the MOST knockdowns in a UFC world title fight

Israel Adesanya has disputed Conor McGregor's claim that he has the most knockdowns in a UFC world title fight.

Earlier this week it was the four year anniversary of McGregor's TKO success against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205.

Posting on Instagram this week, McGregor wrote: 'Most Knockdowns in a UFC World Title Fight! Clinical shooting. I have surpassed this level, multiple times over. Excited to showcase!' 

However, although McGregor claims that he registered five knockdowns against Alvarez, UFC records state that he only had three. 

Adesanya commented on McGregor's post, writing: '2nd most knockdowns', accompanied by a wink emoji.
