Martin Christensen Braithwaite is a professional footballer who plays as a striker for Spanish club Barcelona and the Denmark national team.
The 30 years old is expected to be out of action for very long time after he suffered the injury in the Blaugrana's third match of the season against Getafe.
The Denmark international took to his social media space to to share image of himself shortly after the surgery. He was pictured lying on the hospital bed while he gave "thumb up" for the camera.
Braithwaite appreciated the club and fans for the short as he continues his rehabilitation. According to the Marca, the former Leganés striker is expected to be out for four months.
The Danish international has joined the long list of Ansu Fati, Ousmane Dembele and Sergio Aguero who are all unavailable for Barcelona.
Meanwhile, Ronald Koeman's side will host Granada at the Camp Nou on Monday night. Barcelona are currently occupying seventh position in the league standing, and three points behind their rivals Atletico and Real Madrid.
