Neymar Jnr.
Linked with a €222m transfer to PSG, Neymar has been embroiled in one of the most incredible transfer sagas in football history.
The 25-year-old Barcelona superstar has spent four years at the Camp Nou and has developed into one of the finest footballers on the planet.
Big spending French club PSG triggered his €222m (£198m) release clause and the Brazilian's future now lies in his own hands.
Either, he can continue to thrive alongside Leo Messi and Luis Suarez at one of the biggest clubs in the world or trade it in for a bigger contract and the chance to finally be the main man.
Despite excelling at Barcelona, Neymar remains in the shadow of arguably the greatest footballer of all time - Messi.
It was confirmed that Neymar would miss Barcelona training on Wednesday and things have snowballed since.
The Barcelona statement published on their website on Wednesday lunchtime read as follows:
"The player Neymar Jr, accompanied by his father and agent, has informed FC Barcelona this morning of his decision to leave the Club in a meeting held at the Club’s offices.
"Faced with this position, the Club has informed them they refer to the buy-out clause of his existing contract which as of 1 July totals 222 million euros which will have to be deposited in its entirety.
"Furthermore, in reply to the claim for the contract extension bonus, the Club has once again made it clear that the amount remains deposited with a notary until the case is resolved.
"The player remains under contract at FC Barcelona but with temporary permission to not take part in training sessions."
Barcelona have made their position clear. They will be forced to let Neymar leave if PSG can stump up the €222m required.
The statement also referred to Neymar's massive loyalty bonus, which was due to be paid to the player and his entourage this week.
The Catalan club seem unwilling to pay the reported €26m bonus.
