Manchester United centre back Victor Lindelof has revealed the difference in playing for the Old Trafford giants and Benfica, according to reports in fotobollsksnalen.
The Manchester United centre back told reporters during the training session with the Sweden national team: “It has been good and very important for me to get to know the club, everything around, all the players, leaders and the system. It’s a very important time for me.”
Lindelof added when asked about comparisons with Benfica: “The difference is clear. It’s clear there are more eyes on Manchester United than at Benfica.”
The former Benfica defender is yet to make an appearance for Manchester United in the Premier League despite the huge effort made to sign him from Benfica.
Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho has opted for a Phil Jones and Eric Bailly partnership in the heart of the defence, it has been suggested that the Sweden international is struggling to get match fitness.
However, Lindelof will be expected to start Sweden’s upcoming internationals, after missing the last two games due to injury.
Leeds United’s Pontus Jansson was drafted in to replace Lindelof in April, but it’s likely the Manchester United player will come back into Janne Andersson’s starting eleven, at the expense of Pontus Jansson.
Sweden and France sit on top of Group A after six games with 13 points each but Blagult tops the Blues on goals difference, Sweden will travel to Bulgaria for their next game while France will take on Netherland.
