Harry Kane has thanked Antonio Conte for his recent praise of the striker after the Chelsea boss admitted that he would love to sign the England international.
The Chelsea manager said last week that he viewed Kane as the “complete striker” and added that he would love to bring the Tottenham Hotspur star to Stamford Bridge.
Kane will have no doubt heard about Conte’s praise of the forward as he and his Tottenham team-mates get ready for the new season.
Now, the striker has responded directly to Conte’s words as the new Premier League campaign looms large.
Kane is quoted as saying by Metro: “Obviously it’s kind words [from Conte] but I’m focused on my team now and what my manager thinks.
“I’m out here concentrating on what I need to do, and being fit for the new season.”
Kane finished as the Premier League’s top goal-scorer last season as he netted 29 times for the Lilywhites.
However, his fine form in front of goal was not enough to inspire Tottenham to the title, as the north London side ended up behind Conte’s Chelsea in the Premier League table.
Chelsea are preparing for their Premier League title defence having already strengthened their attacking options this summer by signing Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.
