Luben Loftus-Cheek has risked some backlash from Blues fans after giving an interview to Arsenal Fan TV explaining why he felt he had to leave the club this summer.
The 21-year-old is on a season-long loan at Crystal PALACE. This was after failing to break through into the first-team at Stamford Bridge, admitting that he needed to play more.
Loftus-Cheek was interviewed by Arsenal fan ‘Troopz’, a regular on the popular fan-led channel, who also joked that he’d like to see him in a Gunners shirt.
The England Under-21 international laughed off the prospect of moving to the Emirates Stadium, but also nodded in agreement as Troopz criticised Chelsea’s reluctance to give him more of a chance.
Speaking at the FIFA 18 Launch Party about his situation, he said: ‘I had to leave Chelsea and get as much game time as possible and improve. That’s what I need at the moment.
‘I’ve trained with some top players at Chelsea but sometimes training is not enough.
‘You need game time so this move to Palace has me really excited.’
Loftus-Cheek has made just 32 appearances for Chelsea, scoring two goals for the Blues.
