The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Governor Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the winner of the governorship election in Anambra State.
It was reported that Obiano defeated Tony Nwoye of the All Progressives Congress and Obaze Oseloka of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), who were his twitter major opponents.
Obiano of the All Progressive Grand Alliance received a total vote of 234,071 to finish ahead of Nwoye of All Progressive Congress who got 98,752
The Governor won with a big margin in key areas of the state including Idemili, Onitsha, Orumba, Ihiala, and Awka.
Mr. Obiano also won in Ogbaru local government, the local government where PDP’s Oseloka with a total vote of 6,615 against 3,415 votes got by Mr. Oseloka.
Mr. Willie Obiano will continue as the governor of the state until November 2021, as he's set to complete his two terms in office as Governor of Anambra state.
