
Sunday Oliseh has expressed his delight to have won the Period 2 title with Fortuna Sittard in the Dutch second division league.
This was the first time in 23 years the club will win a trophy.
Fortuna Sittard defeated Jong Ajax on matchday 20, which drew the curtain on the Second Period of Eerste Divisie.
Djibril Dianessy scored a first half brace to help Fortuna Sittard beat Jong Ajax 2-1 to secure the Jupiler League Period 2 title..

The former Nigeria coach dedicated the success of his team to the fans.
“We wanted to win this for the fans because they have not won anything in over 20 years, from a club that was dying in January to a club that is winning a Period title,” Oliseh said during his post match interview.
Oliseh also tweeted shortly after the game; “Our victory over Jong Ajax 2-1 today @FortunaSittard not only makes it a record seven victories in a row,but secures us the 2nd Period title. Fortuna’s 1st title in 23 years.God is Great!”
Recall that Sunday Oliseh took charge of Fortuna Sittard when the club was battling relegation waters last season.
He has now steered the Limburg side to the promotion play-off spot.
Fortuna Sittard now have 44 points from 20 league games. They face Dordrecht next Friday in their next game.
