Lovren explains what made him 'really mad' during final

Dejan Lovren was “really mad” after a pitch invader interrupted the World Cup final on Sunday.

France were beating Croatia 2-1 when four members of the Pussy Riot protest group took to the field at the Luzhniki Stadium.

They were quickly apprehended by security, but not before one was thrown to the floor by Lovren in his unsuccessful search for a high five.

After the game, and after being mocked by Peter Schmeichel, the Liverpool centre-half explained his side of the situation.

“I was really mad because we’d been playing at that moment in good shape,” he said.

“We’d been playing good football and then some interruption came. I just lost my head and I grabbed the guy and I wished I could throw him away from the stadium.”
