Nigerian actor, Jim Iyke, has denied reports he was arrested at the airport on Monday.
Speaking in an interview with Pulse, the actor said he was shocked at reports of his arrest, adding that he has received numerous telephone calls as regards the report.
Recall that earlier today, reports had it that the actor was arrested by security operatives after allegedly slapping a staff of Dana Air.
According to the report, Iyke arrived the airport late, however, when a security staff of the airline tried to search him, the actor got angry and attacked the staff.
According to PUNCH reports, Dana Air’s Media and Communications Manager, Kingsley Ezenwa, who confirmed the incident, said Iyke was, however, released, after he had apologised to the airline employee.
But, denying the claims, Iyke said he only had a delayed flight and was only being escorted by his two personal assistants and police escort.
“I am surprised at this news. I am presently seating at the Dana Air office about to board my flight. I missed my flight and when I got to the airport, I wanted to try and see if I could make it because the plane hadn’t gone, they even tried speaking to the pilot but it was late. They had to put me on the next flight,” he said.
“My sister just called me to ask this same question because she said her old school friend called her and told she held about my arrest. I have been at the airport for two hours. I don’t know why people will come up with stories like this.”
