Omoyele Sowore, a presidential aspirant and publisher of SaharaReporters unveiled the political party on which he would run for the highest political office in the country.
Omoyele a Nigerian human rights activist, pro-democracy campaigner and founder of online news agency Sahara Reporters.
In an Instagram post, he wrote:'IT'S OFFICIAL! With the ink dry on the certificate being presented by INEC, the African Action Congress is here! We stand for justice and transparency; a Nigeria that works for all, not just the elite few. Let's #TakeItBack'.
Today, our movement’s political platform was announced as one of the newly registered political parties by INEC.
On August 15th, the official unveiling of our party, the AAC, will hold at the Party Headquarters in ABUJA. We will also be announcing the members of our Coalition of Authentic Progressive Parties & Organisations (CAPPO) on that date.⠀
With our own dedicated party platform, we are now able to match up a pace setting movement with a transformative political platform.⠀
We call on progressives and youth everywhere to embrace the AAC. Our party is the authentic platform for political transformation in Nigeria. ⠀
