Kaka gets a hero's welcome from AC Milan fans as he returns to the San Siro for their game against Roma

After a trophy-laden spell at AC Milan, Kaka received rapturous applause when he returned to the San Siro for their Friday night win over Roma.

In a video posted to his Twitter account, the 92-cap Brazil international is introduced to the crowd, who respond with a loud cheer.

He claps and waves in response, taking in the adulation for his role in propelling the club to the among Europe's elite.

AC Milan triumphed 2-1 over Roma, with Patrick Cutrone scoring a 95th-minute winner for the hosts.

The Brazilian scored 95 goals in 270 appearances between 2003 and 2009 for the Italian giants.

In that time, he also won Serie A in 2004 and the 2007 UEFA Champions League, cementing his hero status with the Rossoneri.

After leaving for Real Madrid in a £60million transfer in 2009, Kaka returned to the San Siro four years later, scoring nine times in 37 games during the 2013/2014 season.

He retired in December 2017 after a three-year spell with Orlando City in the MLS.

Former team-mates Leonardo and Paolo Maldini now occupy senior roles at Milan, prompting suggestions the 36-year-old could join them in the hierarchy.
