Real Madrid set new record under new manager Lopetegui

Real Madrid has surpassed the previous record they had under former manager Zinedine Zidane and has now set a new one when the Los Blancos played Leganes at the Santiago Bernabeu.



Real Madrid has taken their game to a new height under Julen Lopetegui and they have now broken the club’s overall passing record in the match against Leganes on Saturday.

According to Opta stat, the European Champion made 798 successful passes against Leganes a record Real Madrid has never attained since Opta started collecting data.


Real Madrid managed more passes than the game Leganes just once and that was against Kashima Antlers in the World Club Cup finals and the game went to extra time.

Real Made completed 882 passes against the Japanese team, compared to 869 against the Pepineros, with a 91.82 per cent success rate in their last match.

Real Madrid lead
the passing statistics with 1,505, just ahead of Barcelona who has 1,470 and a game in hand.


Los Blancos are also ahead in terms of completed passes as well, at 90.76 per cent to 87.89 per cent.

Lopetegui has introduced a more pressing game at the Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid breeze past Leganes in a fashionable style with a 4-1 scoreline.


Lopetegui’s men have now recorded three wins in three games.
