Chelsea star Marco Alonso sign a new longtime contract with dethroned Premier League until 2023.
The 27-year-old Spain international has established himself as a key player for the Blues since moving to Stamford Bridge from Serie A outfit Fiorentina in 2016.
Alonso has made 92 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals and providing 11 assists winning both Premier League and FA Cup under the guidance of former Chelsea coach Antonio Conte for the last two season.
After putting pen to paper on his new deal, ex-Bolton left-back told club official website: "I am so happy to stay here longer and to keep playing for one of the best teams in the world. It’s been a very good two seasons and I am looking forward to more.
"A product of Real Madrid youth team, Alonso won the Premier League in his first season with Chelsea before lifting the Emirates FA Cup the following season.
Club director Marina Granovskaia said: "We are delighted to be extending Marcos' contract.
"In the past two seasons
he has developed into an important player for the club, demonstrating his outstanding ability and a fantastic attitude that has helped him become a Premier League champion and Spain international."
Alonso received the first of his three caps for Spain earlier this year when he replaced Jordi Alba in a 6-1 victory over Argentina.
