Kano Pillars will be biting themselves after they gave up a 3-0 lead to lose this year’s Aiteo Cup on penalties to Ranger’s International of Enugu in the final played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba. After cruising to a 3-0 lead, Pillars capitulated momentarily as the Flying Antelopes conjured up three late goals, pulling off a historic comeback, to drag the game to a penalty shoot-out.
During the ensuing penalty shoot-out, CHAN Super Eagles midfielder, Rabiu Ali and Jimoh missed their penalties for Pillars to hand the Cup to Rangers International and leave unbelieveable scenes at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.
Rangers broke the jinx of losing in final match today in a grand style. The comeback was heroic and emotional as Okey Odita and Thomas Olufemi won their third Aiteo Cup
