Free Basics is brought to you by Facebook, it helps provide people with access to useful services on their mobile phones in markets where internet access may be less affordable. The websites are available for free without data charges, and include content on things like news, employment, health, education and local information. By introducing people to the benefits of the internet through these websites, we hope to bring more people online and help improve their lives.
Now that MTN is part of this good innovation, we can now say that they’ve tried for the year. However, the free facebook mode has a data limit of only 20MB/day just like that of Airtel, but you can access other popular sites such as Nairaland, Naij, SuperSport, GlobalSoccerForum and so on.
Just turn on your MTN data, launch your browser and go to freebasics.com or you can directly go to the Facebook free mode by typing free.facebook.com.
