Samsung Galaxy S10 To Be Launched This Year

The Korean technology giant is expected to lift the lid on its new Galaxy S10 as soon as next month and it could be one of their biggest updates in years.

Rumours are rife that this refreshed flagship will pack a swathe of upgrades including a better display and radically improved cameras.

If true, the Galaxy S10 could offer a significant update over the current Galaxy S9 and here's five reasons why it could be so much better.

THE SCREEN WILL GET EVEN BIGGER

Samsung has long been the leader when it comes to screen technology but the S10 could take things a step further.

Recent leaks have claimed to show a display that will now stretch to every corner of the device meaning there's not a bezel in sight.

Unlike most of its rivals, it seems Samsung won't include a notch at the top of the phone but will instead punch the front-facing cameras out of one corner of the screen.

Samsung fans could see a trio of devices being unveiled very soon.

Recent leaks have revealed plans for a standard Galaxy 10, a Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy S10 Plus.

Here's the expected screen sizes.

Galaxy S10 - 6.1-inch display • Galaxy S10 Lite - 5.8-inch display • Galaxy S10 Plus - 6.4-inch display.

Prices for the entry-level S10 Lite could start from £669 with the standard S10 getting a £799 price tag.

If you want the S10 Plus then expect to pay a premium with this colossal call maker possibly starting from £899.

BETTER BATTERY AND SOME CLEVER CHARGING

Samsung managed to squeeze a giant 4,000mAh battery inside its Note 9 device and expect more juice to be packed inside the S10.

Battery life is still one of the biggest issues for smartphone fans and with firm's such as Huawei offering more power, Samsung must follow with its own extended life.

Along with a larger battery tucked under its hood, it's also thought that Samsung will follow Huawei's Mate 20 Pro by offer reverse wireless charging.

This would allow the S10 to become a portable hotspot with other phones getting an instant refill when pressed against this new flagship.

Many of the latest phones, such as the Mate 20 Pro and Galaxy A9, are getting more cameras and the S10 could be next in line to get a photography upgrade.

It's thought that Samsung will pack a triple rear snapper into its new flagship which could offer features such as wide-angle shots, better zoom and improved portrait images.

Along with a new rear camera, it's also expected that the Korean firm will offer a better selfie experience with a dual-lens front camera also rumoured.

If true, it could mean users will get the option to add depth effects to photos of their face and maybe get more of their friends in a shot via a wide-angle lens.

It's almost certain that the S10 will arrive featuring the latest and greatest processor under its hood.

There's no word on what will be included but some versions of the S10 could feature Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855 processor which was unveiled last month in Hawaii.

This update chip will replace the current the 845 as Qualcomm's flagship and promises to bring improved performance, better photography features and the ability to offer access to 5G download speeds.

Samsung confirmed that it will feature the 855 and 5G technology in a device to be launched very soon but there's nothing to say this will be S10.

Along with this faster processor, it's also thought that Samsung could release a phone with much more storage.

In fact, there could be a device with as much as 1TB of memory revealed at launch.
