Arsenal star Denis Suarez sends fans message after disappointing Man City debut

ARSENAL star Denis Suarez made his first appearance for the club against Manchester City yesterday after signing on deadline day from Barcelona - and has a message for Gunners fans.

Suarez was the only arrival at the Emirates in January after joining on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Unai Emery had wanted another defender and after their display against Manchester City, it can be seen why.

The Premier League champions cut through the Gunners on numerous occasions as they cantered to a 3-1 victory on Sunday.

Sergio Aguero scored a hat-trick, opening the scoring in the first minute, to give the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Stephan Lichtsteiner and Laurent Koscielny nightmares.

The defeat hampers Arsenal’s top four hopes, who are now sixth after Manchester United beat Leicester earlier that day.

One redeeming light was the debut of Suarez, or it was supposed to be if he had made any kind of impact.

The former Sevilla midfielder came on for Sead Kolasinac but was largely ineffective, losing the ball on numerous occasions and playing several wayward passes.

But the 25-year-old has taken to social media to issue a rallying cry to the Arsenal fans.

He said: “Today I returned to Manchester to make my debut in the @premierleague and I was eager and happy to start this great challenge.

“The score wasn't good but this has just started. Let's go for it, C'mon Gunners! #ArsenalFC”

Suarez spent time at City’s academy before moving back to Spain with Barcelona B.

And he will be hoping to start in Arsenal’s next game when they take on Huddersfield at the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.
