Arsenal are set to be without Granit Xhaka for today’s game against Manchester City after the Swiss midfielder was left out of the Gunners’ squad that travelled to the north-west.
Unai Emery eased the club’s injury crisis with the capture of Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez earlier this week but the Spaniard still faces problems in central defence and central midfielder.
However, the midfielder was not with Arsenal’s squad that arrived in Manchester last night.
It is likely that he has sustained a knock to keep him out of the game.
Also, Ainsley Maitland-Niles was also not spotted in the squad and is set to miss the game.
That could force Emery into a back three and the Spaniard will be hoping Laurent Koscielny can feature after sustaining a nasty jaw injury in an FA Cup defeat to Manchester United last week.
