As the first woman in 14 years to host the Grammys, Alicia Keys, all eyes will be on her on February 10. While her iconic career speaks for itself, many are curious to know more about her personal life, specifically who her husband is. The singer, 38, married Swizz Beatz in 2010, and have been going strong since. Here’s what you need to know about her hubby.

He’s a record producer and rapper.

The Bronx native is well-known in the music industry — specifically the hip-hop community — and is behind some of the genre’s best bops like Jay-Z’s “On to the Next One,” Beyoncé’s “Check On It” and his very own 2007 single “It’s Me B–ches.” He rose to fame thanks to his work with fellow rapper DMX in the mid-90s.

He’s known Alicia since forever.

It’s all about the timing. The two met when they were both teenagers, but didn’t get together until several years later. The R&B singer wasn’t always so into her bae, but that all changed when they worked together. “Swizz will have the fastest car, the biggest jewelry, the loudest jacket; everything with him is really over the top. I used to see him and think, ‘He is so annoying,'” she told Marie Claire. “I fought it tooth and nail. Why should I work with him? Finally though, we did it, and had a ball because guess what? We made music in ten minutes,” she laughed.

They have a blended family.

The power couple shares two kids together — Egypt, 8, and Genesis, 4. However, the musician has three other kids from previous relationships — Prince Nasir, 18, Kasseem Jr. 12 and Nicole, 10.

Alicia dedicated one of her songs to him.

Like most songwriters, Alicia spills her heart out when she writes music, so of course some of her songs would be inspired by the love of her life! She wrote “That’s When I Knew” about her beau, and it’s seriously too sweet. Some of the lyrics are the following: Right then/ I didn’t have time even to overthink it/ I loved you and all of a sudden/ I was all in.”

They bring out the best in each other.

“I think we’ve taught each other a lot,” she told the outlet. “He’s taught me to live more fully, and I think I’ve taught him to live more deeply.” We love these two together!
