The 49-year-old singer-and-actress believes she and the retired baseball ace - who is father to 14-year-old Natasha and 10-year-old Ella from his marriage to Cynthia Scurtis - are living their "best years" together and don't need to change anything in their lives.
J-Lo - who has twins Max and Emme, 10, with ex-husband Marc Anthony - said: "Among our children and work and all the wonderful things that happen, we are really living our best years.
"We are grateful for this and we do not need anything else at the moment. We have to do things at our own pace."
The 'Second Act' star - who was also previously married to Ojani Noa and Cris Judd - admits having kids has changed the way she views marriage.
She told Closer magazine: "I think I've understood that marriage takes a lot more than just falling in love and sharing a home together.
"In my case, my first responsibility is my children and making sure as a mother that I'm creating the best possible home for them.
An established and award-winning singer and actress today, Jennifer Lopez began her career with a number of minor roles and music videos. Check out some highlights and key moments from her career so far.
Jennifer Lynn Lopez was born to Guadalupe Rodriguez and David Lopez of Puerto Rico, U.S., on July 24, 1969. She was raised in the Castle Hill neighborhood of the Bronx in New York City, New York, U.S., and studied at Preston High School and Baruch College.
From the age of five, Lopez took music and dancing lessons. She wanted to be a movie star – a goal she set for herself way back in high school – and made her acting debut at 16; it was a small role in “My Little Girl” (1986), which starred James Earl Jones, Geraldine Page and Mary Stuart Masterson.
She was then cast as one of the Fly Girls in the popular TV comedy “In Living Color” (1990-94, pictured).
During the early 1990s, she appeared in a number of small roles on TV. These included “Nurses on the Line: The Crash of Flight 7” (1993), "Second Chances" (1993-94, pictured), "South Central" (1994) and "Hotel Malibu" (1994).
The critically acclaimed “My Family” (1995, pictured) was her first feature film. She also appeared in “Money Train” (1995) and the Francis Ford Coppola-directed “Jack” (1996), along with Robin Williams.
In 1997, she got her big break with “Selena,” a biopic of pop singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez. Lopez received positive reviews for her performance and earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical.
Her other 1997 releases were "Blood and Wine" alongside Jack Nicholson, the box-office hit “Anaconda” starring Ice Cube and Jon Voight, and “U Turn” (pictured) featuring Sean Penn.
In 1998, the actress starred in the critically acclaimed “Out of Sight” opposite George Clooney.
In 1999, Lopez released her debut Latin pop album titled “On the 6.” The song “If You Had My Love” went platinum inside two weeks and “Waiting for Tonight” became one of her biggest hits. The album also featured the single "No Me Ames," which she recorded with Marc Anthony.
In 2000, she starred in the psychological thriller “The Cell” with Vincent Vaughn. Even though the movie didn't fare well at the box office, the year proved to be significant for Lopez - this was the year she made her now-iconic appearance at the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards, where she wore a green silk Versace dress. According to some reports, the widespread coverage of that red carpet moment persuaded Google to create its now popular image search feature.
In 2001, her studio album “J.Lo” debuted at No. 1 on the pop charts, becoming one of her most successful albums. During the same period, her film – "The Wedding Planner" opposite Matthew McConaughey – opened at No. 1 at the box office.
In late 2002, Lopez released her third studio album “This Is Me... Then.” The music video for the lead single, “Jenny from the Block,” featured actor Ben Affleck, to whom she was engaged at the time. Lopez starred in the romantic comedy “Maid in Manhattan” (2002) opposite Ralph Fiennes. Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, the film was a commercial success.
In 2003, she appeared opposite Affleck in “Gigli,” which bombed at the box office. It received multiple nominations at the Razzie Awards.
In 2004, she starred with Affleck, again, in “Jersey Girl,” which, again, did not receive positive reviews. A scene in the film shows the marriage between Lopez and Affleck’s characters in a church, but it was cut after their breakup.
Her other release in 2004, "Shall We Dance" opposite Richard Gere, did well at the box office. It was a remake of a 1996 Japanese film of the same name.
Lopez starred alongside veteran actress Jane Fonda in the romantic comedy "Monster-in-Law" (pictured) in 2005. A box-office success, it earned over $150 million. She also appeared in "An Unfinished Life" that year, featuring the likes of Robert Redford and Morgan Freeman.
After her marriage to singer Marc Anthony in 2004, the pair starred in “El Cantante,” which is based on the life of salsa singer Héctor Lavoe. Released in 2007 in the U.S., the film received negative reviews from critics.
Her first Spanish album, “Como Ama una Mujer,” was released in 2007 and performed well on Latin and pop charts. The same year, she released her sixth studio album, “Brave,” which had singles such as "Hold It Don't Drop It" and "Do It Well," with the latter receiving positive reviews.
In 2010, Lopez replaced Ellen DeGeneres as the new female judge on the tenth season of “American Idol” (2002-16). Lopez (L) worked with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte on the official song – "We Are One" – of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
In 2014, she began designing a range of jewelry products after partnering with Endless Jewelry.
In 2015, Lopez both co-produced and starred in the erotic thriller, “The Boy Next Door," which was a box-office success.

"That means you need someone who not only understands you, but understands children and is willing to love them as much as you do.
"But I'm hopeful of being able to spend the rest of my life with someone and being committed in that way to each other."
After she split from Marc in 2011, Jennifer had to take time to reflect on herself and her life.
She explained: "I had waited a long time to have kids and then suddenly I had young twins and I was getting divorced from Marc.
"I had to do a lot of self-reflection about what I was going through, why I wasn't happy in my life and what I needed to do about it.
"I also saw that I had to stop thinking that other people were responsible for my happiness.. It was up to me to rely on myself and love myself first in order to be able to be happy.
"That's what I needed to do so I would feel more confident about myself, have faith in myself. That would enable me to be a more open person so that I would be able to meet someone and feel good about sharing my life with someone else."
