Meghan and Harry met the King of Morocco last night but avoided asking about the whereabouts of his “vanished” wife.’
The royal couple visited King Mohammed VI at his residence in the country’s capital, but avoided awkward questions about Princess Lalla, who has not been seen in public since 2017
Princess Lalla Salma, 40, has been missing from public life there since late 2017 and it is thought they secretly divorced.
But although Meghan and Harry have been promoting women’s rights in the north African country, they have remained silent on her plight.
They met King Mohammed VI at his private residence in the capital Rabat. Lalla, also a strong women’s rights advocate, has been dubbed The Missing Princess.
It is widely believed she moved to Greece with her young daughter.
Harry, 33, told the king he and Meghan — who wore a a £3,222 (R58 628,68) blue Carolina Herrera dress — would like to return to Morocco after their first visit for each of them.
Earlier, eight months’ pregnant Meghan, 37, said they would love to return with their baby.
They joined chef Moha Fedal, who hosts Morocco’s version of Masterchef, for a cookery demonstration with underprivileged kids.
He told the couple: “I hope to cook for you next time.”
The Duchess replied: “The whole family next time.”
