The German was left out of Unai Emery's travelling squad to take on BATE Borisov in the Europa League on Thursday.

Mesut Ozil has sent a message to the Arsenal fans after it was announced he will not be travelling to BATE Borisov for the Europa League.

The German midfielder was confirmed fit by the north London club before the travelling squad was announced, but was not included and will not be flying to Belarus.

Ozil took to Twitter shortly after the announcement to post pictures of him in training at Arsenal's London Colney base on Wednesday.

Alongside the pictures the German wrote: "Today's winning team. Training fun." He also included hashtags for "team spirit" and "we are the Arsenal."

As you can expect the tweet didn't go down too well with fans confused as to why Ozil will not be part of the squad for their clash with BATE Borisov.

Responding to the tweet, one Gunners supporter wrote: "Man is getting paid £350k a week to train only, best job in the world."

Another added: "Not in squad again... What's happening... Fans want to know... I became a football fan only because of you Mesut."

But others have taken the German's side in the argument and are taking aim at Arsenal boss Unai Emery, with one writing: "What is Unai Emery thinking, I'm starting to dislike that man."
