Danny Drinkwater has been included in Chelsea's Europa League squad for the knock-out rounds despite his only appearance coming in the Community Shield this season.
The 28-year-old midfielder was available to leave Chelsea in the January window as manager Maurizio Sarri has made it clear he does not consider him a natural fit to his plans.
But after Cesc Fabregas departed to Monaco and Chelsea did not sign a replacement, Sarri has opted to include the midfielder in the Europa League squad.
Drinkwater came on as a substitute after 60 minutes as Chelsea were beaten 2-0 by City at Wembley in August.
January signing Gonzalo Higuain is also in Sarri's squad.
Chelsea play Malmo in the Europa League last-32, with first leg in Sweden on February 14.
