Female national team, Super Falcons’ star, Francesca Ordega has left Washington Spirit of America in a trans-universal deal to join Shanghai, China.
Ordega, who joined Washington Spirit in 2015 and went on to score nine goals in 41 appearances, has previously been on loan at both Sydney FC of Australia and Atletico Madrid Femeni of Spain.
WSC moved to hook Ordega, based on her heroics with the Falcons at the 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Ghana, which earned her a first ever nomination for Africa Women Footballer of The Year.
Although she eventually ended up third in the final vote, Ordega is expected to wow the Chinese female soccer terrain with her pace, skills, deft touches, swerves, eye for goal and assists.
The four time AWCON winner will now aim to replicate the former exhibited by fellow-Falcons star and CAF Award nominee, Assisat Oshoala, who thrilled in two seasons with Dalian Quanjian of China before moving in January to Barcelona Femeni of Spain.
