Arsenal manager Unai Emery has benched Mesut Ozil for the north London derby against Tottenham.
German playmaker Ozil made his first Premier League start in almost a month on Wednesday night, scoring and providing an assist in the 5-1 win over Southampton.
Ozil has fallen out of favour at the Emirates this season and was dropped for Arsenal’s defeat to Spurs in December for ‘tactical reasons’.
Speaking about Ozil in his pre-match press conference, Emery praised the ‘amazing’ German after he produced his trademark bounce finish against the Saints.

‘Each player has their skills,’ Emery said. ‘Ozil has the confidence to shoot like that
