Arsenal news includes an injury update from Unai Emery on the fitness of Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey
Unai Emery believes Granit Xhaka will be fit to face Newcastle United on Monday night.
The Arsenal midfielder suffered a thigh injury which forced him to be substituted late on during Switzerland's clash with Denmark on Wednesday night.
He then sent out a post on social media on Thursday after he had returned to London and said he would be starting to treatment that night to try and regain his fitness.
And, speaking during his pre-match press conference on Friday at London Colney, Emery stated that he believed the 26-year-old would be available to lineup against Newcastle on Monday night, although he was unable to train on Friday.
The Spaniard was also confident that both Konstantinos Mavropanos and Aaron Ramsey would be available, despite both also sitting out Friday's training session.
Emery said: "We trained this morning and some players rested for giving them one day more to train with us tomorrow. Aaron Ramsey, Mavropanos. They can be ready for Monday.
"Xhaka also rested today, we're going to wait [until] tomorrow and Sunday but the first previews from the doctor is that he can progress to be ready for Monday."
Ramsey has been suffering with the thigh injury which saw him forced to leave the Wales squad during the international break to return to London.
Arsenal released an injury update on Friday morning saying he had returned to full training - although Emery's comments seem to contradict that.
Nacho Monreal is fit again following the calf injury which saw him miss Arsenal's warm weather training camp in Dubai. Lucas Torreira will not be available, however, due to suspension.
