The Frenchman last appeared for his country in a friendly against Germany in November 2017 and was overlooked for a recent Euro 2020 qualifier against Iceland.
Lacazette, 27, has scored 15 goals in 39 appearances for the Gunners this term and was tipped for a call-up ahead of Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud.
‘I respect Deschamps’ point of view,’ said Emery.
‘The aim is also that Lacazette constructs a consistency for himself and the necessary productivity to be able to make the French national team.
‘The principal reason is that there is a lot of competition. But Lacazette, in time, I am convinced that he will return to the national team.’
Lacazette started over strike partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during Monday’s 2-0 win against Newcastle and scored a divine chip late on against the Magpies.
