Manchester City's treble-winning players enjoyed a night out in the city centre as they said farewell to departing captain Vincent Kompany.

Pep Guardiola's side produced an emphatic 6-0 thrashing of Watford on Saturday at Wembley to cap off a domestic treble having already clinched the Carabao Cup and Premier League.

Twenty-four hours later it was announced that Kompany, who was out of contract with City in the summer, is leaving to become player-manager at Anderlecht and his City team-mates looked to give him a fitting send-off with a night out in Manchester.

The City players were pictured at The Counter House Restaurant & Bar in Ancoats as they toasted the service Kompany has given the club having joined from Hamburg in 2008 for £6million.

Creative midfielder Bernardo Silva was the most active player on his social media as he sought opinions of supporters over a pair of bold green glasses, paired with a black hat.

As far as fashion statements go, Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson donned a white snapback as he kept it casual for the celebratory night out.

Kompany has struggled with injury in recent years but has remained colossal for City and Guardiola admits the club 'will miss him' when he leaves for Belgium.

'When Vincent was fit, he took such an important role in our team – unfortunately sometimes that couldn't happen – but whenever he played, he did so with pride, passion and desire,' Guardiola told City's website.

'Vincent helped this club achieve so much before I came and when I arrived here, we tried to do it together along with all the other people to try and maintain that position and create new history.

'His spirit has been incredible; he was so important for us in the final weeks of this season and against Leicester he shot with a real desire to score that goal.

'It will be so difficult to replace Vinnie. Everyone is everyone and have their strengths, but Vincent is special.

'For all the times he gave a speech to the guys or spoke with passion about something, he believed in, his leaving will be a big loss.

'We will miss him. I will miss him a lot. Of course, I wish him the very best in the next stage of his life, but he is an incredible part of this football club and will remain so forever.'
