Real Madrid have agreed to extend midfielderToni Kroos contract, the club have announced.
The new contract keeps Kroos at Real Madrid until June 30, 2023.
Kroos joined Real fromBayern Munich in 2014 and has won 11 trophies during his five years at the club, including three Champions League titles and one La Liga crown.
Kroos will face media later on Monday following the announcement of his new contract.
The 29-year-old is likely to play a key role under Zinedine Zidane as the Frenchman looks to overhaul the squad ahead of his first full season back at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Real said in a statement on theirofficial website: “Real Madrid CF and Toni Kroos haveagreed to extend the player's contract, which is now linked to the club until June 30, 2023.”
Playmaker Kroos made 43 appearances for Madrid last season, scoring twice.
