Sergio Aguero has reached 40 international goals with Argentina after finding the back of the net against Qatar at the Copa America.
The Manchester City striker is the third top all-time top scorer for the Albiceleste, only behind Lionel Messi with 68 goals in 133 games and Gabriel Batistuta with 54 in 77 matches.
Head coach Lionel Scaloni dropped Aguero to the bench in the 0-0 draw against Paraguay, following a 2-0 defeat in the tournament opener against Colombia.
The 31-year-old returned to the starting line-up and scored against Qatar to help his team qualify for the quarter-finals, where they are set to face Venezuela on Friday
