Femi Gbajabiamila (APC, Lagos) has been elected Speaker of the House of Representatives. Gbajabiamila, backed by the ruling APC, defeated his challenger Umar Bago (APC, Niger).
Gbajabiamila scored 281 votes while Bago polled 76 votes.
