Nigeria’s Flying Eagles team will arrive Abuja on Thursday from Istanbul, Turkey after their flight was rescheduled by the Turkish Airline.

Paul Aigbogun’s men were scheduled to arrive the shores of the country on Wednesday from Turkey, but the Turkish Airline rebooked the team’s flight for Thursday due to technical problems.

“Our Turkish Airline flight was cancelled due to technical issues,” the media officer of the team Andrew Randa told The PUNCH.

“We have been rebooked for tomorrow’s (Thursday) flight to Abuja.”

The Flying Eagles crashed out of the U-20 World Cup in poland on Monday after 2-1 defeat to Senegal in the Round of 16 at the Lodz stadium on Monday, despite a bright start to the tournament.

After their elimination, the squad was scheduled to depart Poland on Tuesday but the players staged a protest over their unpaid match bonuses and allowances in their hotel.
