LaLiga and the RFEF have finally agreed on the changes to both the Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup next season.
LaLiga had originally opposed the alterations to the format but now everyone is in agreement. The RFEF wanted the Copa del Rey to be one-off matches up until the semi-final stage, which would then be a two-legged affair. The top sides will enter the competition on the 22nd of January and finish on the 19th of April.
There's also an agreement in terms of the new 'Final Four' tournament to replace the existing two-legged Spanish Super Cup. It'll now take place between the 8th and 12th January. The semi-finals will take place on the 8th and 9th with the final on the 12th.
LaLiga will begin on the 17th-18th of August and finish on the 24th of May. The only matter left to be resolved regarding next season's calendar are related to matches on Friday and Monday evenings.
