EUROPA LEAGUE DRAW: Man United in easy group, Arsenal face tough task

Former
Former Europa League champions Manchester United have been drawn in Group L of this season’s competition along with FC Astana (Kazakhstan), Partizan Belgrade (Serbia), and AZ Alkmaar (Holland).
United, who won the competition in 2017, failed to finish in the top four in the Premier League last season, hence their failure to make the Champions League for this season.
They will not hope to win this year’s edition to book a guaranteed place in next season’s Champions League.
Meanwhile, fellow Premier League contenders, Arsenal will face Eintracht Frankfurt (Germany), Standard Liege (Belgium) and Vitoria (Portugal) in the group stages of the Europa League, following the draws that were held on Friday.
The Gunners are in Group F.
Arsenal finished fifth last season in the Premier League and failed to get into the Champions League, and will hope to now win the Europa League to have a guaranteed place back into Europe’s elite club competition.
