Liverpool fans are suspicious of all referees in the Premier League but should be happy about the appointment of Anthony Taylor to oversee Saturday’s clash with Arsenal.
You may be wondering why Reds should be pleased. Taylor doesn’t have a good reputation with the fans. At best he’s just another ref. At worst he doesn’t like us.
However, there is one stat that should encourage Liverpool fans regarding to Taylor’s history of giving the Reds penalties.
As Liverpool stats guru Andrew Beasley (@BassTunedToRed) points out, Taylor gives a penalty to Liverpool more often than any other side he has reffed over 17 times in the league.
