Man City retain the Community Shield after win against Liverpool

Manchester City have retained the FA community Shield 2019.

The Citizens defeated Liverpool 5-4 via penalties at the Wembley stadium on Sunday.

Raheem Sterling had put the Pep Guardiola side in the lead in the first half after Leroy Sane was substituted. 

Manchester City saw the German leave the pitch due to injury during collusion with Trent Alexander-Arnold, which Gabriel Jesus came on. 

In the second half, with ten minutes left to play, Virgil van Dijk jabbed the round for Matip who came on Trent Alexander-Arnold to head home. 

Claudio Bravo was the hero on the day after he saved Giorgio Wijnaldum kick.
