Bolton Speaks On Being Sacked As Trump's National Security Adviser

Embattled U.S. National Security Adviser, John Bolton, has denied being sacked by his boss, President Donald Trump.

Recall that President Trump had, on Tuesday, announced that he had fired Mr Bolton as his National Adviser.

“I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House,” he wrote.

“I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions”, President Trump added, saying that a new National Security Adviser would be appointed next week.

But reacting, Mr Bolton said he was not sacked as National Security Adviser but rather offered his resignation.

“I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, "Let's talk about it tomorrow"”, Bolton wrote.

Mr Bolton had been accused of running the National Security Council, which advises the president, as a separate entity within the U.S. White House.

Recall that Bolton, who had been in office since April 2018, was also accused of not attending meetings with Trump, and disagreeing with the president on issues publicly.
