The Nigerian Independence Day is the National Day of Nigeria and is always celebrated on 1 October. It marks independence from British rule on 1 October 1960.
Earlier today, President Muhammadu Buhari addressed the nation on the occassion of Nigeria's 59th Independence anniversary.
In his speech, he touched on key topics like security, creating jobs, economic growth and fighting corruption.
