Arsenal transfer boost as Ceballos 'refuses to return to Madrid under Zidane'

Arsenal have been dealt a boost in their pursuit of a permanent Dani Ceballos transfer with reports in Spain claiming he will refuse a return to Real Madrid as long as Zinedine Zidane is manager.

Ceballos joined Arsenal on loan in the summer and has become a hit with fans despite a tough start to their campaign.

He reportedly asked for the deal not to include an option to buy as he targeted a return to the Spanish giants.

But AS say his bad relationship with Zidane means he will opt against deciding to head back as Arsenal pursue a permanent transfer.

Reports last month claimed Ceballos held talks with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to discuss an exit.

Yet he is concerned Perez may scupper the deal by insisting his stays as they aim to make a healthy return.

Ceballos joined Real Madrid for €14m from Real Betis and they are said to want at least treble that amount - €42m - in order to make a profit and cover the wages he has been paid.

Arsenal are believed to be looking to pay closer to €35m in order to keep the 23-year-old at the club after his instant impact.
