Solskjaer says Pogba can't play against Villa but may return for Spurs clash

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes Paul Pogba will be like 'a new world-class signing' when he returns to action for Manchester United.

Pogba has not played since the end of September due to an ankle problem that has kept him out of United's last 11 games. The Frenchman has been recuperating in Dubai and Miami but is due back at Carrington shortly and expected to play in the Christmas programme.
"He's stepping up his recovery and let's see how soon he'll be match-fit and available," said Solskjaer.
"Of course that's going to be a new signing for us. He's not really been able to play for us so when we get him back it will be like a new world-class signing, a new world-class midfielder, so of course we want him back as soon as possible.
"Every player is allowed to be injured and Paul is working hard to be back.
"No-one can doubt his professionalism, his willingness or his desire to play football. He's a footballer and he's one of the best midfielders in the world.

Solskjaer has ruled Pogba out of contention to face Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday, although he may return against Jose Mourinho's Tottenham the following week.
'Of course, we've missed him when he's been away. Some of the players - Scotty (McTominay) and Fred - have taken up that challenge and have done well but, of course it's a boost for us when he comes back."
'Sunday, no,' said Solskjaer. 'Spurs? I can't say now, because I've not been home and seen him, let's see where he's at when he comes back and starts training with us.'
McTominay has missed the last two games with an ankle injury he sustained against Brighton earlier this month but could return against Villa. The Scotland international's progress means that Pogba could be used in an advanced role.
'We hope Scotty will be back as soon as possible,' said Solskjaer. 'He's been back home so I've not seen him. Maybe Villa, maybe Spurs, hopefully for Sunday.

'The beauty we have with Paul is that he can play in so many roles. He can play in a two, he can play in a three and he can play as a No.10 and I think we all saw last week, and today, that Jesse (Lingard) is also coming back to his best.
'He played centre midfield at times against Sheffield United and he has the energy and drive to do that. We've got more and more coming back and that's great, we shall see who is fit when Paul is fit because you can't plan too far ahead in football.'
