In contrast with reports that Ighalo is set to jump at the opportunity of returning to play in the English Premier League next month, the former Super Eagles star said he will not make any decision on several options in front of him, until he spends enough rest time with his family and gets the best of fun at Christmas.
.
Although speculation is rife that he could be on his way back to the English Premier League at the start of January, with six clubs already jostling for his signature, Ighalo stressed that he is not in a hurry to face the issue.
So, rather than jump at the opportunity of shipping out of The Oriental Nation, Ighalo is set to wait until after yuletide to take a stand, even as one of his former clubs, Watford, are said to be in the race for his signature with Everton, West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United and Southampton, as they all aim to get him in the January transfer window.
Speculation is rising high about a return to Queensland for Ighalo, after he scored 10 goals in 17 games for Shenhua and helped the Super Eagles win bronze at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where he emerged highest goals scorer, which has kept him in the last-10 shortlist for this year’s ACF Footballer of The Year award.
However, Ighalo insists he will not be distracted by transfer talk swirling round him, as he will switch attention to the Christmas holiday with his family after this weekend’s Chinese Cup final against Shandong Luneng.
Ighalo retorted: “Speculations will always be there. Obviously, there are offers from the EPL but maybe during the Christmas break I will think about them.”
