Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed he is interested in signing Erling Haaland for Manchester United.
The 19-year-old is one of the most in-demand strikers in Europe following his impressive performances for Red Bull Salzburg this season.
Haaland has scored 28 goals in 22 appearances for the Austrian champions so far this term and is being monitored by several top clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.
United are also in the race to sign Haaland and reports last week claimed that Solskjaer had travelled to Salzburg for a meeting with the player’s representatives.
And speaking to Norwegian television channel Viasport after United’s 3-0 win over Colchester in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening, Solskjaer admitted he and United are keen to sign Haaland.
‘He is a player I like,’ Solskjaer said.
‘We are looking for good players all the time.
‘Erling has had a good development, so he has to develop further wherever he decides.
‘I don’t need to talk so much about him, but we as a team always look for players who can complement the others we have, and then we see what we end up with.
